The investment costs for postgraduate medical courses can vary depending on the specialty of interest, and operational costs. Check the costs for your specialty of interest here.
The duration may vary depending on the specialty and was developed to maximize the student's immersion in supervised clinical practice, with a weekly schedule, consisting of 3 weeks of online theoretical classes and 1 week with 3 consecutive days of in-person practical immersion within the same study module.
Professionals with postgraduate degrees have the opportunity to participate in the Board Certification Examination, provided they meet the requirements established in the Notice of the Medical Society corresponding to their area of practice. There are specific rules in each medical society, but generally, they require proof of practical experience hours within the specialty. For more information, consult the notices of the board certification examination for the specialty you are seeking.
The Postgraduate Medical Courses at São Leopoldo Mandic offer comprehensive training that combines theoretical training with practical experience. Students have the opportunity to experience real-life patient care scenarios, always supervised by specialized preceptors, ensuring in-depth and reliable learning. Furthermore, the courses include guidance to enable students to engage in scientific activities, further enriching their training.
At the end of the course, students receive a postgraduate certificate attesting to the supervised medical care time they have spent in their area of specialization. This practical experience is fundamental, as it can be used to meet the requirements of certain entities, depending on the number of hours required for the Title Examination and the acceptance of the postgraduate practical hours. It is important that candidates are aware that this information will be detailed in the Title Examination Notice for which they intend to register, ensuring that they are well prepared for the certification process in their area.
Our courses have a hybrid format, consisting of approximately 30% synchronous (live) online classes and 70% in-person clinical practice. Online meetings take place once a week, while practical classes are held in a 3-day in-person immersion, focusing 100% on supervised care of triaged patients. The idea is that you can put all the acquired knowledge into practice and feel prepared for your daily work.
Mandic's medical specialization courses typically include over 70% supervised clinical practice, with patients selected according to each study module.
Throughout each module, you will study a specific subject, in which you will receive patients triaged according to the pathologies of that respective subject.
Absolutely. With the knowledge gained and practice throughout the course, you can open your own practice or clinic and start applying all the techniques you've learned. In fact, we have cases of several students who are already working in their own clinics and experiencing a significant increase in income, even while studying for their postgraduate degree.
The number of patients varies according to the specialty and clinical cases. During the 3 days of practical immersion, the average is 2 to 3 patients seen per hour.
Practical classes at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic are held in our own clinics or affiliated hospitals. Please check with the Academic Secretariat for a list of partner hospitals.
