The objective of the course is to enable the student to understand, diagnose, and treat periodontal diseases, enabling them to perform the most current clinical and surgical procedures, with a strong clinical and theoretical foundation. It also aims to train teachers, enabling them to read and understand scientific literature, thus providing the necessary skills to prepare and deliver classes, courses, and lectures.
First Module – A course in the Related Domain Area will be taught in a hybrid format, with the first day (Tuesday) from 2 PM to 6 PM and the following days (Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday) from 8 AM to 6 PM.
The following six modules will also cover subjects from the Related Domain Area, which take place monthly for four days a month, with classes from Tuesday to Friday, Tuesday from 2 pm to 6 pm and Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8 am to 6 pm.
Note: The subjects of Experimental and Human Bioethics, Scientific Research Methodology, and Biostatistics will be taught in an online format.
Note: Students who have already completed the Related Domain modules in another Master's program may request an exemption (validation) analysis from the Commercial Department before starting the course, provided that these studies were completed within a minimum period of 4 years from the start date of the course. Exceptionally, former students of the São Leopoldo Mandic Institution will be granted a proportional discount on the validated Related Domain subjects. If the request is made after the start of classes, the discount will only be valid for the months following the date of the request.
From the eighth module, the course takes place from Tuesday to Friday, also on dates established by the faculty, from 8 am to 6 pm, with classes focused on the Area of Concentration (Periodontics).

In addition, the student will be exposed to periodontal techniques that can be applied to dental implants;
