The second edition of the public health awareness and care campaign, this time in partnership with the City of Campinas, will take place next Saturday, October 18th

Health Day is an initiative that aims to bring free basic healthcare to the population. Students and professors from the Medicine and Dentistry courses at São Leopoldo Mandic, in partnership with the City Hall of Campinas, will be at Praça Renê Pena Chaves next Saturday, October 18th, from 9 am to 2 pm.

During the event, students will conduct oral health assessments, women's and children's health assessments, eye exams, blood pressure checks, and provide guidance on nutrition and physical activity, among other activities focused on health care and education for the population. For children, in addition to health care, the event will also include recreational activities geared towards a younger audience.

This year, in partnership with the City of Campinas, we will also offer updated vaccination schedules, covering the main immunizations. Vaccinations will take place in the morning, from 9 am to 12 pm, and participants must present their vaccination card and photo ID. No appointment or registration is required to participate in the event. 

“This activity is an opportunity to provide our students with practical experience. We want to train professionals who are sensitive to the needs of the community and who are able to combine technical knowledge and empathy in a truly humanized service,” explains Professor Arlete Maria Gomes Oliveira, organizer of the extension activity at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.

During the appointments, the public will receive guidance on their health status. Those who present any specific needs will be referred to the reference health unit in their region, ensuring continuity of care and preservation of their health.
