From its origins as study groups to the consolidation of faculties, a hospital, stricto sensu programs, Mandic Digital, and new campus, the Mandic Group's history has evolved alongside healthcare in Brazil.
1972
The history of São Leopoldo Mandic
The journey began with an informal group of dental surgeons and physicians gathering to study and discuss cases.
1978
Founding of the Centro de Estudos Frei Leopoldo Mandic
A centre dedicated to studies, research, courses, and scientific events in Dentistry was established.
1997
Centro de Pesquisas Odontológicas São Leopoldo Mandic
The institution began offering continuing education and specialisation courses across different areas of Dentistry.
1998
Master's and Doctoral programmes in Dentistry
Stricto sensu graduate programs were established and recognized by CAPES (the Brazilian Federal Agency for the Support and Evaluation of Graduate Education).
2003
Dentistry undergraduate
The Dentistry undergraduate programme joined Mandic as an innovative, high-value course.
2009
Recognition
The MEC recognized São Leopoldo Mandic as the best higher education institution in the health sector in Brazil, according to the IGC/2008 ranking.
2013
Top score from MEC
The undergraduate Medicine program was approved with the highest possible score, and the institution also began offering postgraduate programs in medicine.
2015
Name change
The institution was renamed Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.
2017
MED MANDIC Teaching Clinic
The MED MANDIC Teaching Clinic was inaugurated, and a new Faculty of Medicine was opened in Araras.
2019
Mandic Digital inauguration
The innovative prosthetics laboratory began using 3D CAD/CAM technology to produce high-tech dental prostheses.
2020
Faculdade de Medicina do Sertão
The Mandic Group inaugurated the Faculdade de Medicina do Sertão in Arcoverde, in the heart of the Pernambuco semi-arid region.
2023
New campus
New medical undergraduate campus were opened in Limeira and Grande Vitória, as well as a postgraduate Dentistry campus in Portugal.
