Research ethics committee
O Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa (CEP) da Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic (MANDIC), em seus papéis consultivo, deliberativo e educativo, avalia e acompanha os aspectos ético-científicos de pesquisas envolvendo, direta ou indiretamente, seres humanos.
Para tal, são seguidas diretrizes éticas internacionais e brasileiras (Resoluções CNS nº 466/2012 e 510/2016, Norma Operacional 001/2013 do CNS e Carta Circular 166/2018), as quais visam salvaguardar os interesses dos participantes da pesquisa em sua integridade e dignidade e contribuir com o desenvolvimento da ciência dentro de padrões éticos.
Pela Cartilha dos Direitos dos Participantes de Pesquisa, participantes de pesquisa e pesquisadores poderão ter acesso a seus direitos e deveres.
O CEP-MANDIC é subordinado e credenciado junto à Comissão Nacional de Ética em Pesquisa (CONEP), do Conselho Nacional de Saúde (CNS) e possui composição multiprofissional e atuação multidisciplinar, visando garantir o pluralismo nas decisões sobre temas ligados à ética e à pesquisa.

Involving human subjects
Contemplam projetos de pesquisa e relatos de caso clínico. A submissão de ambos deve ser feita exclusivamente por meio da Plataforma Brasil, criada e instituída pela CONEP–CNS/MS para sistematizar o recebimento das propostas. No site, podem ser consultados o manual e o tutorial. Os projetos de pesquisa ou os relatos de caso clínico devem ser submetidos, ao menos, 14 dias úteis antes da reunião ordinária de modo que, sendo enviado fora deste prazo, automaticamente, será apreciado na reunião subsequente. O parecer do CEP será emitido até o prazo máximo de 5 dias úteis após a reunião.
For research projects:
As of October 20, 2024, it will be mandatory to submit proof of affiliation of the principal researcher (student or faculty member) with São Leopoldo Mandic when submitting proposals on the Plataforma Brasil. A copy of the front of the institutional ID badge with legible information will be accepted as proof. The deadline for signing the cover sheet is 7 business days.

For case reports:

Not involving human subjects
Research projects that do not involve human beings as participants, whether individually or collectively, directly or indirectly, including the handling of their data, information, or biological materials, are reviewed by CEP-MANDIC and may receive an Exemption from Submission. The deadline for issuing the exemption certificate is 15 days from the receipt of the project by the CEP.

Research Projects and Clinical Case Reports must be submitted to CEP-MANDIC via Plataforma Brasil at least 14 days before the regular meeting; submissions received after this deadline will automatically be reviewed at the subsequent meeting. The CEP opinion will be issued within a maximum of 5 business days after the meeting.
