About

The Library’s Quality Management System is certified under ISO 9001. Its physical collection includes approximately 30,000 copies of the most recent works in the fields of Medicine and Dentistry, as well as reference works, academic papers, journals, and other materials. In digital format, approximately 7,500 book titles are available. MANDIC students also have access, through the Capes Journal Portal, to millions of scientific articles and relevant databases for scientific research. Library users also have access to the Internet, bibliographic searches, research, and bibliographic exchange services (COMUT and BIREME), as well as verification of the standardization of academic papers. The “Dr. Cid Santos Gesteira” Library at the São Leopoldo Mandic, which has been in operation for over a decade, has continuously updated its collection and services over time, modernizing and adapting its physical space, and expanding and training its staff to enhance the quality of its services. Thanks to this constant commitment to excellence in its collection and services, the Library has held ISO 9001 certification for its library management system since 2006 and was accepted in 2012 into the Virtual Health Library – Dentistry as a partner, in accordance with the parameters established by BIREME, contributing to the development of professionals in the field of dentistry—both those involved in academic activities and those interested in continuing education as a means of personal growth. Thus, the Library plays a crucial role in the Faculty’s mission to anticipate educational trends, ensure high-quality teaching and research, and contribute to the country’s social progress.

The Library provides lockers for users to store their bags and personal belongings, as access to the collection is limited to items used for note-taking, such as notebooks, pens, pencils, books, and laptops. Smoking, eating, drinking, and using audio devices—especially cell phones—are also prohibited on the Library premises.
