User Training

The Libraries of the São Leopoldo Mandic Group (São Leopoldo Mandic College, São Leopoldo Mandic College – Araras, São Leopoldo Mandic College de Limeira, and Faculdade Medicina do Sertão), with the aim of supporting users’ study and research activities and enabling full use of their various information and research resources, offer training sessions to guide users in using the research resources available to the academic community and to inform them about the products and services offered. Below, you will find the available training sessions for each tool that can support your academic and scientific development.

Lattes Curriculum

The Lattes Platform is a database of résumés for Brazilian researchers, whether active or not, that reflects their professional and academic careers. It is used by funding agencies to award research grants and in graduate admissions processes, making it essential to keep it up to date.

EDS – How to Perform Basic Searches in Your Discovery Service?

The EDS (EBSCO Discovery Service) is an online research tool that brings together all the databases subscribed to by the Library so they can be searched using a single search box.

E-book – My Library

Registration is now open for the online Minha Biblioteca training session. The session allows participants to explore the catalog and main features of Minha Biblioteca, an e-book platform that provides access to thousands of titles from the country’s leading publishers, along with various tools to facilitate reading and learning.

Formatting of Academic Papers

This is a support service for users applying formatting and standardization rules to academic papers—including undergraduate dissertations, monographs, master’s dissertations, and doctoral theses—covering elements such as the title page, table of contents, primary and secondary sections, pagination, and bibliographic references. São Leopoldo Mandic College’s formatting manuals are used as reference materials. Feel free to ask questions.

Capes Journal Portal

This is a virtual library that aggregates and provides Brazilian research and educational institutions with the best of international scientific output. The portal contains a collection of more than 45,000 full-text titles, reference databases, patent-specific databases, as well as books, encyclopedias, reference works, technical standards, statistics, and audiovisual content. During the training, the academic community learns how to use all the resources of this important research tool through demonstrations of subject searches, journal searches, book searches, and database searches. Registration must be completed through “Meu Espaço” under the “training” tab.

UpToDate

UpToDate is a health information platform dedicated to synthesizing knowledge for use by physicians and patients. It is produced by a community of expert physicians who serve as authors, editors, reviewers, and users. It covers a wide range of topics across various medical specialties and includes text pages, graphics, summaries, references, videos, and a drug database.

Literature Review

Learn how to search for documents that can be used as references in your research, using national and international databases such as the CAPES Journal Portal and PubMed.
