The main mission of the Center for Technological Innovation at the São Leopoldo Mandic College (NIT/MANDIC) is to promote innovation and industry-academia collaboration in graduate programs.

About NIT

NIT Technology Innovation Center

The Technology Innovation Center at São Leopoldo Mandic (NIT/MANDIC) has as its main mission to encourage innovation and foster industry–academia exchange within graduate programs.

NIT is composed of professionals from various fields, including faculty members, lawyers, entrepreneurs, and communications professionals, who guide students, supervisors, and program coordinators in the development of patents, software, applications, and other technologies. It also collaborates on projects to develop and improve products requested by healthcare companies.

Patent

A patent is a legal document that grants an inventor exclusive rights to an idea or product. For a patent to be used as an alternative format for a dissertation or thesis, it must have been developed during the master’s or doctoral program. If the patent was developed during the master’s or doctoral program and on the premises of São Leopoldo Mandic, the following must be listed as co-authors/co-inventors in the patent registration: the student, São Leopoldo Mandic, the thesis advisor, and the coordinator of the program in which the student (author/inventor of the patent) is enrolled.

Technical Report

A technical report is a legal document that objectively describes the procedures carried out for the testing or validation of a product or process, as requested by a company affiliated with an educational institution. For a technical report to be used as an alternative format for a dissertation or thesis, it must have been prepared as part of a master’s or doctoral program.

Media product

Media consists of the set of communication channels used to transmit information and a variety of content. The media landscape encompasses a range of different platforms that serve as vehicles for disseminating information, such as newspapers, magazines, television, radio, the internet, and social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and podcasts.

Teaching materials

Teaching materials can be defined as pedagogical products designed for educational and instructional purposes.

Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)

A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is a document that clearly and in detail describes the practices and recommendations involved in a process.
