Medical Residency accredited by the National Medical Residency Commission of the Ministry of Education (CNRM/MEC)

The medical residency program at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic is accredited by the National Medical Residency Commission of the Ministry of Education (CNRM/MEC).

Medical Residency is a type of postgraduate education (lato sensu), in the form of a specialization course, intended for graduates in Medicine from Higher Education Institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education or with diplomas validated by a Higher Education Institution in Brazil.

The activities take place in health institutions, both university-affiliated and non-university-affiliated, that have agreements with Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic and are located in various cities in the Campinas-SP region.

Successful candidates will undergo intensive training, with remuneration through a scholarship whose value is determined by the National Medical Residency Commission, and a weekly workload of 60 hours, under the guidance and supervision of physicians .

General Program Objectives: Comprehensive training for general surgeons with a holistic view of healthcare, qualified to perform the most common diagnoses and procedures, regardless of their complexity.
To provide earlier diagnoses and intensify training in oncological surgery and trauma, given that these are the two leading causes of morbidity and mortality.

General Objectives of the Program: To improve technical and care skills at all three levels of healthcare (primary, secondary, and tertiary), in the following sectors: outpatient clinics, general wards, emergency units, and intensive care units, through direct patient care under the continuous supervision of preceptors, faculty, and attending physicians. To recognize and value the general medical approach to people.

General Objectives of the Program: To enable the resident physician in Obstetrics and Gynecology to promote health and prevent, diagnose, and treat conditions related to women in different phases of life, as well as to develop skills and critical thinking in subspecialties and various areas of practice.

Family and Community Medicine

General Objectives of the Program: In view of RESOLUTION No. 1, OF MAY 25, 2015, which regulates the minimum requirements for medical residency programs in Family and Community Medicine – R1 and R2 and provides other measures, we have the following training objectives:
“Article 7. The general objectives of the residency program in Family and Community Medicine are:
I – To train Family and Community Physicians, with individuals and their families at the center of care;
II – To act in a qualified manner, focused on the comprehensive care of individuals, families, and communities in which they are involved;
III – To solve the greatest number of problems possible, with quality, through an integrated, continuous practice, in a multidisciplinary team, preferably inserted in the communities; and
IV – To integrate into the processes of continuing health education in their territory. Article 8. The Residency Programs in Family and Community Medicine must contemplate specificities of the Unified Health System – SUS, such as actions in the area of:
I – Attention Basic;
II – Urgency and Emergency;
III – Home Care;
IV – Mental Health;
V – Popular Education in Health and Social Participation;
VI – Collective Health; and
VII – Comprehensive General Practice in all life cycles.
