Terms and conditions for using the Mandic application.
Who should use the app?
application SLMandic is an educational platform and part of the teaching project of Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic. For the use of the Mandic , users' personal data will be processed. When processing this personal data, Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic will act as the data controller under Federal Law No. 13.709/2018 (General Data Protection Law – LGPD). The purpose of this document is to clarify what information is collected from users by the Mandic, owned by Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic , and how it may be used.
Features
This application centralizes all student/employee data in one place and allows the user to access administrative features and facilities provided by São Leopoldo Mandic, including:
– Requesting documents from the Secretariat;
– Access to information about the course and subjects taken, including assessment dates, class schedules, absences, and grades;
– Request for repair/maintenance of the Faculty's physical structure;
– Virtual Campus Map;
– Access to the Campus via NFC technology on your mobile phone;
– Interface with the Faculty's Athletic Association;
Information gathering
São Leopoldo Mandic College informs its users, whether they are students in on-campus, blended, or online courses, or employees, that it does not collect personal information from its users. All data found is from São Leopoldo Mandic's systems, provided by students/employees due to their enrollment/hiring.
The application processes the following data already existing in the database:
– Full Name: User profile identification and classification
– CPF: User profile identification and classification
Academic Record: User profile identification and classification
– Password: User profile identification and classification
– Phone: User support and sending notifications
– Institutional email: Password recovery for the application and sending notifications
Notes: Allow consultation regarding academic evaluations
– Absences: Allow users to check their attendance at classes and faculty events
– Activities completed: Allows you to check which activities are due, the due date, and the grade received
– Course: Allows monitoring of academic activities in the chosen/taught course
– Subjects: Allows monitoring of academic activities in the chosen/taught course
– Enrollment: Allows you to check the enrollment status ("currently enrolled" or "on hold")
– User photo: Allow the user to make the app more user-friendly
– User calendar: Allows users to check their ratings and other activities of interest
– Time zone: Allow the user to create an event in the “calendar” tab
All processing of personal data has the ultimate purpose of enabling the proper conduct of academic activities at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.
Mobile phone features that the app can access
For the application to reach its highest level of usability, it may utilize some of your phone's features, such as the geolocation system, the camera, the NFC sensor, and Face ID and/or Touch ID technologies.
The geolocation feature is enabled to allow the user to access the college map functionality, digital student ID card, and maintenance requests.
The phone's camera functionality is used to allow the reading of QR code sensors and the sending of photos for maintenance requests.
Finally, the NFC sensor functionality is used to identify and unlock the turnstiles at the college entrance, should the user choose to use this system.
The Face ID and/or Touch ID functionalities can be enabled by the user if they want easier access to the application.
Privacy by Default and Privacy by Design
This app was developed and structured to protect your privacy and personal data (privacy by design). This means that we only collect the data necessary for the app's functionalities to be used.
Furthermore, and whenever possible, the app's default settings are as protective as possible (privacy by default), allowing the user to enable features and/or enter personal data beyond those collected by default, such as adding their photo or enabling biometric sensors (Face ID and Touch ID) for validation and access to the app.
With the security of your data and our application in mind, it was developed to end the session after a short period of inactivity
Information Sharing
The São Leopoldo Mandic College may share the data collected in this application with other companies in the Mandic Group, provided that the purpose is strictly academic and institutional.
Personal information will only be disclosed without prior notice if required by law, in response to legal proceedings, or if there is evidence that this information was provided in a way that violates any of the usage guidelines for products or services.
Retention period for your personal data
The data processed adheres to the privacy policies of the São Leopoldo Mandic Group, which all students and employees have had and continue to have access to.
The data is processed exclusively for academic and professional purposes and is discarded after that purpose is fulfilled.
Information Security
All information provided by users is protected by a personal and non-transferable password to ensure its security and privacy. Mandic uses security mechanisms to minimize any unwanted data exposure and constantly seeks new ways to improve the systems used.
Databases are protected by Firewall, Bastion, VPN, user permissions, and asynchronous authentication, with access only via encrypted authentication. APIs are only accessible via authorized applications.
Responsibility for Information
The information provided is the sole and exclusive responsibility of the declaring user. If the user violates any item of this Agreement or the legal provision, Mandic may, at its discretion, suspend or limit the user's access to the Mandic application.
Exercising the rights provided for in the LGPD (Brazilian General Data Protection Law)
The application does not allow the creation of accounts, so it only provides access to the São Leopoldo Mandic database. Therefore, the user is not obligated to use the application and there is no possibility of deleting an account within it.

app Mandic contains links to other websites that are not covered by Mandic. We ask that users review the Privacy Policy of these websites before using them, and the Institution is not liable for any damages resulting from accessing these websites.
Update to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use
The São Leopoldo Mandic College may update its Privacy Policy and Terms of Use to better serve the interests of the Institution and its users. Therefore, it is recommended that users review this document periodically to stay informed about how their information is being protected.
Regarding liability in case of misuse of the Application
Without prejudice to any applicable legal measures, Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic may, at any time, warn, suspend or cancel the account of any USER who: (i) violates any provision of this Agreement; (ii) fails to fulfill their duties as a USER; (iii) engages in any fraudulent, malicious or offensive behavior towards third parties.
Intellectual Property
The USER acknowledges ownership and title to Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.
All intellectual property rights relating to future results, methodologies and technical innovations, products or processes and "know-how" obtained by virtue of the use of this Application shall be the exclusive property of Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.
The Application's structure, trademarks, logos, trade names, layouts, graphics and interface design, images, illustrations, photographs, presentations, videos, written and audio content, computer programs, databases, transmission files, and any other information are intellectual property rights of Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, in accordance with the terms of the Industrial Property Law (Law No. 9279/96), Copyright Law (Law No. 9610/98), and Software Law (Law No. 9609/98) and are reserved for Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic.
This Terms of Use does not grant or transfer any rights to the USER, and access does not generate any intellectual property rights for the USER, except for the Login and Password, which are personal, individual and non-transferable to the USER, and any unauthorized use, commercial or non-commercial, is prohibited.
Such uses will constitute a violation of the intellectual property rights of Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, punishable under applicable law.
The USER agrees not to infringe, during the use of the Application, copyrights and intellectual property rights, patents, trademarks, trade secrets or equivalents, owned by Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, and is obliged to hold the Faculty responsible for any accusations of plagiarism and/or total or partial reproduction of which the Faculty may be accused or convicted as a result of the USER's improper use of the Application's content, for which reason the USER expressly assumes full responsibility for any losses and damages arising therefrom; as well as for any and all expenses arising from such accusations and/or eventual convictions, including court costs and attorney's fees.
