The Internationalization Program brings about a complete transformation, focusing on curricular innovation, faculty development, and, of course, exchange opportunities for students. The idea is to prepare our students to operate in a global environment, always striving for excellence in teaching, in addition to expanding their knowledge.

Program Academic Mobility

The Academic Mobility Program aims to articulate and expand the academic relationships between students and faculty in undergraduate and graduate courses in Medicine and Dentistry.

Modalities and regulations

In the midst of developing a plan to expand its international partnerships, we currently have several agreements signed with educational and research institutions in the United States, India, Indonesia, Italy, and Portugal. In addition to these existing agreements, new partnerships are rapidly expanding.

Free Movers

If you wish to undertake academic mobility at an institution that does not have an agreement with SLMANDIC group colleges (as a free mover), you must contact the institution of interest and verify the necessary documents for your application. When doing so, inform the foreign institution that you are a student and faculty member of the SLMANDIC Group, an institution recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education. After acceptance, you must inform the Internationalization Directorate about the academic mobility agreement via email (Medicine – mobilidadeinternacional.medicina@slmandic.edu.brand Dentistry – mobilidadeinternacional.odontologia@slmandic.edu.br).

Campinas, São Paulo

In this city, SLMANDIC offers undergraduate and graduate (stricto sensu) courses in Medicine and Dentistry. Campinas is located in the state of São Paulo and is close to two international airports. It is 25km from Viracopos International Airport and 100km from Franco Montoro International Airport in São Paulo. Campinas is an important urban, economic, academic, and cultural center. For medical students, there is the MedMandic Clinic, a teaching clinic of the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty, which serves the entire community of the city and region. For dentistry students, there is the Faculty of Dentistry, one of the best-equipped in the country. In addition, it offers both stricto sensu and lato sensu.

Araras, São Paulo

At the Araras campus, SLMANDIC offers an undergraduate Medicine course in a spacious and well-suited environment for various teaching and learning activities, with a focus on clinical internships in its own hospital and emergency care unit. Araras is located in the state of São Paulo, 90km from Viracopos International Airport. Araras is a city known for its welcoming environment and quality of life, and its economic activities are based on the manufacturing industry.

Limeira, São Paulo

At this campus, SL Mandic offers an undergraduate degree in Medicine, and students complete clinical internships in its own hospital, which includes an Intensive Care Unit. Limeira is located 50km from Viracopos International Airport and Campinas, and 25km from Araras. Limeira is the city with the largest concentration of plated jewelry producers on the continent and historically remains a national leader in the agribusiness sector, producing ornamental and fruit seedlings, and is also the world's largest producer of citrus seedlings.

Arcoverde, Pernambuco

The Sertão Medical School, part of the SLMANDIC group, offers an undergraduate degree in Medicine and provides students with clinical internships at its own hospital. Arcoverde is a city in the ninth region of Northeast Brazil, in the interior of the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, and is located 256 km from Recife, the state capital.

Postgraduate Units

It has 10 postgraduate course units, with the Campinas unit offering stricto sensu and lato sensu programs in Dentistry and Medicine, and the Araras, Belo Horizonte, Brasília, Curitiba, Fortaleza, Grande Vitória, Porto Alegre, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo units offering lato sensu programs in various dental specialties. In addition to these units in Brazil, SLMANDIC has a unit in Portugal.

Students interested in participating in an exchange program at one of the SLMANDIC Group's colleges should contact the Exchange Coordinator at their home institution to learn about the application procedures. To be eligible for a place in the Academic Mobility program, students must first be officially nominated by their home institution. The deadlines and conditions for nomination and application to the program differ for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Depending on the level of the program you are interested in, you will need to follow different procedures to apply.

The student must submit:
  1. Updated academic transcript
  2. Proof of being regularly enrolled at the home institution
  3. Copy of passport
  4. Academic mobility form
  5. Letter of motivation/intent for participating in the academic mobility program at our institution.

All exchange students must be nominated by their home institution, regardless of the exchange program they are applying for. After nomination, send documents to the Internationalization Directorate by email:

Travel/Health Insurance

Exchange students need to purchase travel/health insurance before traveling to Brazil (the policy must cover the entire period of their stay in the country), including personal accident and repatriation, if applicable, in their favor, at no cost to the sending or receiving institution.

Accommodation and living options on campus

SLMandic does not provide housing for international exchange students on any of its campuses. Students are responsible for finding their own housing, according to their financial situation and personal preferences.

Vaccination policy

To ensure the health and safety of everyone, Brazil has specific vaccination guidelines for foreigners coming to the country. It is recommended that vaccinations be complete, with special attention to the following vaccines: yellow fever, polio, measles, rubella, diphtheria, and tetanus.
