Scientific Initiation
SEMIC
The Scientific Initiation Seminar (SEMIC) at the São Leopoldo Mandic Faculty is an annual event, free of charge and open to the academic community, that highlights the scientific and extension work developed by students throughout the year.
The 2025 edition will take place on October 7th, from 8 am to 6 pm, at Faculdade São Leopoldo Mandic, in Campinas (SP).
During the event, the results of undergraduate scientific initiation research projects linked to the PIBIC and PIBITI programs will be presented, including work developed with support from PIBIC/CNPq, PIBITI/CNPq, FAPESP scholarships and private sector initiatives.
The XII SEMIC offers a unique opportunity to discuss innovative ideas and disseminate research results, as well as promote interaction with experiencedwho act as evaluators for the event. Participants will also be able to learn about the various research lines developed by the institution, getting even closer to the world of science and technology and enriching their academic training.

All students who participate in the lectures, as well as the SEMIC presentations, will receive a certificate of participation.
Who can participate in the event?
The event is free and open to the entire academic community. Students and professors are invited to participate in the XII SEMIC.

The best-performing works in each category will be awarded academic recognition prizes and a certificate of excellence, highlighting the relevance of the research developed and the students' commitment to producing high-quality scientific work.

What are the presentation categories for the XII SEMIC?
• PIBIC: exclusively for undergraduate students participating in the PIBIC – 2024/2025 Cycle.
• PIBITI: exclusively for undergraduate students participating in the PIBITI – 2024/2025 Cycle.
• Research: for the presentation of research papers, including laboratory, clinical, and epidemiological studies.
• Theme : for the presentation of papers resulting from literature reviews or clinical cases.
• Extension: category focused on the presentation of university extension projects or actions.
