Medical students in their third year or higher, surgical residents, and surgeons who wish to learn the fundamentals of laparoscopic surgery.
Course Content:
This course consists entirely (100%) of hands-on activities conducted on the Robotic Surgery Simulator. After enrollment is complete, each student will be registered for access to São Leopoldo
Mandic College—Campinas Campus and will be contacted to schedule their training.
Scheduling will be handled by the technician in charge at the Robotic Hospital—Training Center, who will also supervise and assist with both equipment operation and tracking training hours.
On the first day of training, students will log in to gain access to the software and hardware. This login is individual and non-transferable.
Each student is required to complete a minimum of 2 hours of training per week; the days of the week and times will be scheduled at the student’s convenience and based on the Robotic Hospital’s availability—between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
The training will be divided into two stages:
First Stage
—Robot-Assisted Laparoscopic Surgery (“Fundamental Skills of Robotic Surgery”)
—8 hours, consisting of four training sessions of two hours each.
Stage Two—
Training in Simulated Clinical Scenarios that can be tailored to the student’s specialty—
4 hours, consisting of two training sessions of two hours each.
