Red June: Companies Make Blood Donation Part of Their Corporate Culture

São Paulo, June 2026Red June was created to raise public awareness about the importance of blood donation, with World Blood Donor Day on June 14 as its focal point. The date takes on even greater significance given the challenges blood centers face in maintaining adequate blood supplies, especially during vacation periods, cold weather, and outbreaks of respiratory illnesses.

Naturgy

Naturgy, a piped gas distributor in the state of Rio de Janeiro, participates annually in blood donation campaigns organized by Hemorio (the State Institute of Hematology), encouraging employees to donate at the company’s headquarters. Employees’ family members and people working at the Barrashopping Business Center, where the company is located, are also encouraged to donate. In 2025, 71 units of blood were collected, a 12.7% increase over the previous year.

To raise awareness, Naturgy created the slogan with the hashtag #Salvei4Vidas, highlighting that a single donation can save the lives of up to four people.

Mapfre

With the goal of supporting blood bank supplies and reinforcing its commitment to health and social responsibility, Mapfre is promoting an incentive campaign that offers a free in-person medical consultation to customers who donate blood. This benefit entitles participants to medical care across more than 50 available specialties. To participate, volunteers must meet the minimum donation requirements set by the Ministry of Health and then send the official receipt issued by the blood center to Mapfre’s WhatsApp.

Internally, during Mapfre Culture Week, company employees will participate in a blood drive at the Mapfre Building in São Paulo. These initiatives reinforce the company’s commitment to promoting positive social impact through acts of solidarity.

MedSênior

In the supplemental health sector, MedSênior runs campaigns to encourage blood donation among its employees, using internal channels to raise awareness about the importance of the issue. The company has maintained a partnership with the Espírito Santo Center for Hematology and Hemotherapy (Hemoes) since 2022, organizing regular mobilization efforts to increase the number of donors and contribute to the state’s blood supply. Over this period, seven campaigns have been carried out, mobilizing 1,244 employees. Last year alone, 224 donors participated in the initiatives promoted by the company. Currently, MedSênior conducts two annual campaigns in Espírito Santo, reinforcing the company’s commitment to promoting health and making a positive impact on the community.
