The event, taking place on October 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will feature educational activities, oral lesion screenings, and free diabetes testing in the parking lot of the Assaí hypermarket in the Ponte Preta neighborhood

Campinas, October 22, 2024. Medical and dental students from São Leopoldo Mandic College in Campinas will participate in Health Day this coming Saturday, October 26, in the parking lot of the Assaí hypermarket, located in the Ponte Preta neighborhood of Campinas.  From 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the students will conduct health education activities, perform oral exams focusing on lesions, as well as blood pressure checks, diabetes screenings, cardiac risk assessments, and first-aid guidance for everyone who stops by. There will also be games and activities for children.

Everyone is welcome to participate free of charge. “Health Day is a very important initiative with a significant impact in the current context, both for the social aspect of the campaign and for promoting fundamental values for healthcare professionals, such as engagement, collaborative work, and empathy,” emphasizes Prof. Arlete Maria Gomes Oliveira, Coordinator of the outreach program at São Leopoldo Mandic College.

“The institution is a leader in humanistic education, grounded in reality and committed to public health. Initiatives like this underscore the importance of prevention, diagnosis, and care for health and quality of life,” she adds.
